Redditors joplinger & spgreenwood here! Back in May, we announced that for the first time Reddit would build a new department focused on creating original video. We’re excited to share a little more about those plans today, as well as what we’ve been up to, and hopefully get a few ideas from you all.
We believe the basic equation for video on the web is pretty simple:
select interesting subjects + overabundance of care + good people = great video
Our backgrounds are in publishing; we were founding members of the video program at Vox Media before coming to work at Reddit. We believe in creating excellent work with a small, nimble team of creators, iterating quickly, and trying new things.
