I recently have purchased 550rs coupon from www.indiaplaza.in and they charged me 550 only... not a single rupee less ;) ... But i did got some discount coupon from Tata Sky some 2-3 months back which stated one can save 200rs on purchasing any item from indiaplaza.in .... I used tht coupon at www.indiaplaza.in and got the 550rs recharge card for 350rs. :)

indiaplaza is i think operated by indiamart i think. my friend has had bad experience dealing with them. i might be wrong. :|

Indiaplaza.in was formerly fabmall.com and yes I've used that gift certificate for buying a recharge voucher. I've never had any problems buying from them before.

hmm yeah. they seem to have a partnership with ndtv now i see. that makes them reliable enough.

Yes i tried and u do get Tata-Sky recharge voucher worth Rs 1050 for Rs 900 when u use a 100rs gift voucher :) I also kept the Tata Sky set top disconnected for 20 days to check if i can keep disconnected and recharge when i want to.

The sales gimmick of showing a price of 99 instead of 100 or 550 instead of 600 is relevant if the seller is giving the same product for the lower tempting price. But Tata Sky gives only 55 days service with the Rs 550 recharge coupon. Tata Sky is taking customers for a ride by creating the impression that with the recharge coupon value of Rs 550, the customer will get a service for 30 days at the rate of Rs 10 per day. Since charging for services is worldwide for a ful month, the re-charge coupon should either be for Rs 300 or Rs 600 and provide service for one or two months. There is a purpose in keeping the value at Rs 550 if Tata Sky is giving the customer the benefit of a saving of Rs 50 because he is paying the charge in advance. And that is the impression most customers of Tata Sky have, as can be seen from the discussion in this forum. But Tata Sky is collecting collecting Rs 550 in advance and giving a service only for 55 days. This makes a mockery of home accounting which is based on full month's expenses. It would be better to make the Recharge coupon of Rs 600 and provide service for one full month because it is easier for the customer to remember a fixed day for renewal. With your Rs 550 and 55 days system, the customer has to keep remembering a new date for renewal every time. The best thing would be to let the customer pay the exact charge through net banking as we do for the electricity or telephone bills. P. Jayant
