Well, guys..in U.S, they must be bundling Broadband free with satellite T.V as satellite T.V is a costly service. U.S citizens may get such privileges because they are ready to PAY for it. In India, we dont even want to pay 2 Grands for 1 Mbps bandwidth. Forget about higher bandwidth.

In India, still the broadband market is developing and people are still not ready to take money out of their pocket for better services/higher bandwidth. ISP's like Reliance, Airtel and Tata provide bandwidth upto 100 Mbps also but there are Hardly any subscribers for them..and thats why these ISP cannot lay fiber everywhere as the demand is very less.

Broadband Tariffs will reduce when we will have sufficient Broadband subscriber base in India. As the demand will increase, Cost will decrease and the prices will tend to fall. We have the examples of Mobile market in past decade.

Voice market in India is fully developed and so we can easily find Free landline bundled with broadband. That is the method of promoting services, like U.S is promoting Satellite TV by bundling Broadband with it.

And Saurah, I dont know exactly the prices but you cant expect 1 Mbps plan to be below 1000 Rs...But they will be much better than what Airtel and Tata's are offering.

Can anyone tell the approximate date from when these plans will become official, cause everyone is waiting for these new plans to become official soon :thumbsup: and hope they reduce price of 600Kbps plan to like say Rs700 or 800, m on 600Kbps plan for like more than 2 years now and it's serving me good :thumbsup:

My plan is 300kb/s.I take connection before 1 month. normally torrent download speed is 35.but now couple of days almost every time i am getting 75KB/s .

I basically use net for youtube and orkut, if 1Mbps speed is for less than Rs1500 then m going for it, cause nowadays even on 600 Kbps youtube videos buffer, hope they make these plans official soon, I currently pay 1399+tax, hope they make 1Mbps speed at more reduced price than this

I have been using a cell phone from 1998 when the rates were anywhere between 9.5/min to 15/min (depending on the scheme) AND incoming was charged. The cell phone market blossomed only after the rates were reduced.

In South Korea and Japan, u get like 100Mbps below Rs1000 a in most European countries 35Mbps is provided for Rs500 per month, India still ranks 115th rank at internet speed, they should provide 1mbps plan below Rs1000 per month, then it will be good
