Day by day.. I am starting to hate Jio more and more. I might opt for MTNL FTTH .......
....... IF they are willing to give me a connection

Right now I am using Hathway and it has no reliability. All of a sudden, my 50 Mbps connection is crawling at 256 kbps. Speedtest is not even completing. Plus after all the replies in this thread, I am convinced that Jio FTTH is not the right way going forward.

JioFibre is still way better than local ISP's wrt Reliability. I also don't have a problem with their plans. For a low to mediocre usage consumer, plans are still good if not the best. The main problem is their upload speed. The only ISP that i would ever choose over them if available would be Airtel FTTH. I don't mind paying them a little extra for flawless service i have experienced over the last 15 years over ADSL/VDSL.

I think 199 is not base/ starter plan.
Only bronze or above plans are activating.

preview plan expired users, recharge with basic plan. After 100gb fup try with 199plan

@bobby_kes - 199 is indeed a base plan as I recharged for it and CC confirmed it as well. You can also check this video from 7:20 about 199 plan. Like you said all commercial plans are being activated, 199 still isn't coz of backend issues as stated by CC.

Many news websites state that 199 plan can't be used as a first recharge. Some even claim it cannot be used as a standalone plan. Considering the fact that it hasn't activated since Saturday, I don't think it will work on its own. Why don't you try doing a recharge for some basic plan and see if it also gets queued. If it activates, you will know for sure. After a month you can again try this 199 as standalone as it will not be the first recharge.

It could be a possibility. first recharge with a combo plan then opt 199. It's most probably a ploy by Jio to get rid of all the STBs they would have ordered in anticipation of the demand.

if Jio doesn't dangle Rs 199 plan then users with other options would disconnect but if they continue to dangle rs199 plan then they would be stuck with STBs as most users won't opt for Bronze/silver plan

Is there any news about multiroom connection? And if I get stb with 850 plan and then switch to 199 for next month, then will i get to keep the stb?

Most probably you will keep the STB but you won't get a subscription to the OTT apps and live channels
