Jio is getting weirder by the day.
-First there were paid plans appearing last week and the "INTRODUCTORY" 199 plan confusion which btw is still isn't clear.
-Then Upload speed getting capped with no reason.
-And now this new migration plan data.
-And the icing on the cake is Jio CC giving confusing info. I also feel for all those who still haven't received STB even after paying for the commercial plan.

I think people who have recharged with proper 30 days plans (bronze, silver, etc), only their migration plan has been removed.
And not for those who recharged with the weekly 199 plan.
I speculate that this migration plan was introduced for those who paid for 199 and wasn't activated. There were server issues last week as per info given out by CC and to mitigate that problem maybe this plan was introduced.

@bigman91 Jio CC is basically just them reading shit off of a script. They don't understand the problems and can't help you with anything that's not on the script. I once talked to this woman who was so busy just reading everything on the paper, she wouldn't even let me speak. I had to tell her to shut up and listen to me.

So many people don’t need upload speed greater than 10mbps. For base plan 199 it’s ok.

I think they should give 1:1 upload speeds for above 1000₹ plans
It's not about want. It's just that the UL speed cap is artificial. On FTTH, Jio isn't gaining anything by capping UL speed. This is not copper with limited bandwidth.

No but my 50 GB quota of migration plan exhausted. So i recharged with the 199 plan but it isn't getting activated. I tried calling JioFiber CC but no one picks up. I even tweeted this.

Activation of the new plan isn't instant. The new plan would get activated within 24hrs from the time you rechargee it

Okay. Thanks.
That's what the Jio representative replied on Twitter.
Just 4 more hours to 24. Lol. I have no backup connection.

Jio is most like following the US and Canadian ISP models where they make you pay for higher upload speed packages and it shouldn't come as a surprise if they launch differential packages with higher upload speeds for home users. Moreover, they would have reserved the sysmetrical speeds for the commercial plans.

I feel the pain too after being on sysmetrical speeds for over a year now and the day airtel FTTH is available, I'll make a move.

Symetrical. Moreover, Unlike Jio, Airtel does factor in the TCP overhead loss while setting the plan speeds and you often end up getting much more than the promised speeds. On a 100mbps FTTH plan, you can expect 110/110 DL/UL speeds. Airtel Xstream i guess is a new name of the setup box that is bundled with FTTH connection.
