Right.
The prices can only come down from here after the full launch.
Imo, a 4G dongle wouldl be preferable.

It tethers like a 4G dongle lol

FYI the antenna is in the back obviously, but turning it so the back faces the tower has brought me down to -94dBm from -101dBm.

Edit - However, the SINR decreased so I turned it around again.

It seems to be a balancing act but I've managed to get it down to this:

Fast.com - 16Mbps
You Broadband Bangalore - 83ms 40.58/7.45 Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results
Jio Mumbai - 48ms 39.48/8.04 Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results

I have a few questions about jiofi 2
1.Is it Jio locked for the preview offer or forever?
2.Is battery necessary for it to work?
3.Has anyone tried 64gb or 128gb memory card for NAS?
4.Any heating issues?
5.Warranty is 24 months extended or 12 months? Warranty for battery?
6.Why do you think it is a better deal over a lyf flame phone?

1. I'll check and get back to you
2. It works like a phone so no, you don't need to have the battery in.
3. I don't believe so. I'm not going to use it either.
4. None
5. 1 year for the device and 6 months for the battery and accessories
6. The LYF phones are horrible phones and barely passable hotspots. This is a pretty decent hotspot.

I have Reliance Jio Sim under preview offer.
I can confirm that Reliance has native IPV6.

If jiolink is launched soon with the launch offers, I think it will make more sense to buy that instead of jiofi imo. Also my guess is jiolink plans would be more affordable than jiofi post launch.

Yep, got email invite here too. But I'm more interested in the Jio-Link and not Jio-Fi :D
