I am wondering the rate at which JIO is offering free SIMs what would be the speed under preview offer? Each and every SIM holder will milk out network as if there is no tomorrow

You still gotta consider buying this device if you are looking for mifi based plans after launch,so good or no good gotta get one if you are looking for a dongle based approach..
what if they take rcom route and make data card plans costlier than the mobile ones.

I highly doubt it..considering they have no 3G/2G fallback and no 3G/2G oriented plans, only way they would be surviving is by pricing things better than others or else I have no reason to switch to Jio

They must have saved lots of bucks by not buying 3G equipment, but it has left a big hole in their strategy.
It's not just about if the customer has a reason to move to Jio, he needs to have a phone capable of using 4G ............ hence the offer of free sims to entice people to buy new phones.

Jio has to start sale of 4G dongles fast ...... that could tilt it slightly in their favor.

bro now a days every Tom dick and herry handset comes with 4G compatibility so capable phone will not be an issue. We have plenty of people using 4G handset and every person who needs to buy a new handset buys 4G compatible handset(except budget phones.)

The new handsets yes.
If you buy a phone for 15-20k will you throw it out after 1 year just because 4G phones are available?

Absolutely no but I think I am seeing lot of cheap 4G phones from last couple of years. In fact there are plenty of potential 4G customers are available and the rush at R stores is a live proof of that.

@Saurabh Srivastava I have two adapter TP-Link and Tenda supports 300mbps max and mine laptop wifi card supports 150mbps at 40mhz channel width. In USB tethering connection speed is shown as 400 mbps but real speed lie in range of 4 to 7 MBps ( may be sdcard could be bottleneck here ) . I am thinking of USB tether it via mine 300 mbps router which could solve the issue if I get speed above 30 mbps in mine area.

@volcano619 No , After commercial launch you could bring your own datacard to get JIOFI data sim. So, again these device isn't worth it.

Will your router recognize it? It must need some drivers to be pre-installed in router I guess. Since this device is uncommon so I suspect that. Coming to MiFi device nobody is buying it because of product quality. Everyone is going for it because of free 90days usage. Device may be overpriced but the preview offer worth the price.
And what's the guarantee that they will offer JioFi SIM(or JIOFI plans in other words) to the customers who bring their own data card?
