Is there a way to connect to a different band on the device (Jiofi2)? I'm connected to Band 5 and looking to change to Band 40.

Not possible until or unless you jailbreak the device, JIOFI2 is auto-optimized to select the best Band based on signal strength.

Gonna buy JioFi.
JioFi 3 is the latest device..right?
No need to purchase JIOFI 3, Because you could get much better wifi dongles in the open market if you extend your budget by 400 Rs. and you could use any network ( 2g, 3g, 4g ), service provider of your choice. The best thing would be Interface of wifi dongle which would not be as closed as JIOFI. Thirdly if you are purchasing it for jio sim then now a days getting JIO Barcode is pretty easy.
