I recently tried to upgrade the fireware on my Beetel 220bx ADSL2+ modem. The manual said that the modem will "reboot automatically", but since I didn't notice it reboot, I manually shutdown the modem and turned it on. After that, the modem simply stopped working. The computer's LAN connection now keeps oscillating between "connected" and "unplugged".

Any suggestions as to what can be done to repair the modem? Can I replace the chip or get it reburnt somehow? Please note that I can no longer access the modem configuration page at 192.168.1.1 from my computer.

Here is the exact command I issued when I tried to upgrade the firmware:
Code:
tftp -i 192.168.1.1 PUT T28-0q-003.img
where "T28-0q-003.img" was the image file name.

Hi essbebe,

Thanks for the reply.

I downloaded the firmware image from Beetel's website Welcome to Beetel Modems

I originally got this modem from Airtel, right now I'm using BSNL.

I tried doing the reset; this causes the LAN icon to show "connected" continuously as long as the button is kept pressed. But I cannot do anything else like accessing the modem config or connecting to the Internet.

I think I was using the Wanminiport dialer since I used to dial a connection to the Internet.

I hadn't tried telnet. I'll try that and let you know what happens.
