Infotel won the PAN india BWA License .... this is just start of the RIL in telecom sector ... next target will be some telecom company like idea or videcon...

idea -- won the 3g license but valuation is too much
videocon mobile -- they got 2g license and they don't have much own infracture so these will be cheaper to start with .. lets see ..

This development is a game changer for broadband market in India. RIL has more cash than any other Indian private sector company out there and RIL generates about Rs 4000 crores of net profit every quarter. So cash is not a problem for RIL. Mukesh Ambani is credited for lowering of cellphone tariffs in our country in crucial period of 2003-2004 when Airtel was selling cellphone connections as something meant to be used only by rich people. With him entering the broadband market (again) , I hope he is able to do the same for broadband market in our country. Looking forward to a price war in broadband market in India in 1 year from today.

Both Mukesh and Anil are allowed to use name 'Reliance'. Now if they rename Infotel to Reliance too then it wud confuse users as there will be two Reliance operators!

^^Mukesh ambani WILL NOT rename it to Reliance. Also it looks like they will be serving only business customers and not end users like us... :!

It was widely reported in the newspapers a few weeks ago that they have reached an agreement on branding. If RIL enters a business in which Anil Ambani is already present, then RIL will not us Reliance brand name for their business. Therefore broadband from RIL will not be named Reliance. It will be something else.

All I'm looking for is a more affordable service with better quality. Reliance CDMA was the most reliable and cheapest cellphone network in India till a few years ago. I expect RIL to repeat the same story here as well.

definately mukesh will change name of company ... but yeah both can not keep the same name as Reliance in same business ... as they are restricting them self with corporate customer i don't think there will be any price war as expected ...

Well , I can say that today is day for broadband after 2007(when average speed of broadband became 2mbps) Mukesh Ambani did right thing , flow money in auction throgh infotel , and later buy them , 2010 will seen as player year and 2011 will see as people yearNow the main and biggest question of all , what Technology will Reliance infotel use For Broadband

Totally. This was a very smart move by RIL and a good day for Broadband on the whole.
