^ its not that we don't realise that fact but it doesn't hurt to take potshots given an oppurtunity :D
 
Why was it so bad that they enforced this instead of letting system die for every one?
It was bad because they promoted the event themselves promising this and that. A saner company would launch the product quietly making fewer lame promises. And let the good word of mouth publicity do the hard work for you.
Also do not forget that they fucked up the original launch ginormously. They have had months to prepare for the launch of an app that has been a core feature of their platform for a decade now right? They have the experience of handling millions of users and billions of messages. If they cannot handle such a launch properly than who can?
 
Apple launches iPhones ipads in big events every year and end user who order end up with waiting periods.
Obviously the response they have got is more than they anticipated and again they can only invest to a limit in infrastructure because this demand is one off thing.
I consider this fucked up if they can not handle messages sent to/from BBM otherwise I do not think this is a big deal
