BBM would have to cater to all platforms to become a viable challenger to WhatsApp. WhatsApp is coming preloaded on Nokia featurephones these days. Blackberry does not gain much by supporting just Android and iOS devices.

They are bringing BBM to windows as well as to mac, which whatsapp do not support yet. Negative of whatsapp is that you have to share your number in order talk to someone. Plus of BBM is it is not dependent on your mobile number.

Windows Phone? or Windows PC?
I read somewhere that BB has no plans to provide BBM on WP. Only Android and iOS apps are planned.

BBM is stuck at this point. Guess I'm not white listed by RIM. :p

I can wait. I had to try though... :-P

I dunno. The app isn't opening as of now..

The service is totally free but you will have to pay for data. The Apk that was leaked is of beta version which has whitelist for particular users. So will have to wait till official release.
