of course. Brutus and the gang probably did not bother to record what caesar said while dying :D he was not exactly mahatma gandhi :)

Not quite. The act of stabbing Caesar may have been perceived as brutal but Brutus and his cohorts thought what they had done was for the good of the republic and hence it was an honourable act. There is an account of events which says that Both Marc Anthony and Brutus asked for forgiveness from the people of Rome gathered outside the senate. Ofc people of Rome didnot buy this honour killing concept so Brutus and his pals were forced to flee Italy. Marc Anthony did try to get them pardoned since he was the consul at the time.

This ofc led to a lot of friction between Marcus Antonius and Octavian, since the later was the legal heir to Gaius Julius Caesar.

well i personally did not see caesar as an evil man based on the story of the show! he was nice to everyone in rome :\

I agree but his political opponents in the senate disagreed.

well they were hungry for power and of course they thought caesar was killing the republic and turning rome into a dictatorship which i guess he was... i do not know much about the history of rome so hard to say whether it worked out well for them or not :D
