Not quite. The act of stabbing Caesar may have been perceived as brutal but Brutus and his cohorts thought what they had done was for the good of the republic and hence it was an honourable act. There is an account of events which says that Both Marc Anthony and Brutus asked for forgiveness from the people of Rome gathered outside the senate. Ofc people of Rome didnot buy this honour killing concept so Brutus and his pals were forced to flee Italy. Marc Anthony did try to get them pardoned since he was the consul at the time.
