One thing that bothered me... Caesar did not say Et tu, Brute when he dies
no idea about that part of the story. i hope this series is somewhat accurate because this is what i know about Caesar now 
i get that the two primary character on the show are largely fictitious.also, from what i read, Et tu, Brute is based on Shakespeare version of his story and there is no evidence of him actually saying anything like that

There is no concrete evidence that showed Caesar saying "et tu Brute!" A lot of what we see is from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.
The series ends when Augustus celebrates his Triumph and is made supreme ruler of Rome Probable date is about 30BC. A BBC series I Claudius takes place after 20 years from the events in Rome S02, but it was made in the late 70s.
