in.com, i can understand, because in.com have people marketing it. They personally go and ask people to use in.com.But I have yet to come across someone marketing personally abt rediffmail.com. And to date I wonder, what does rediffmail have to offer? Indiatimes and rediffmail, worst ever frontend that I have seen.

well last time i checked rediff was awesomely fast. mostly because of their local servers i assume. i actually wished gmail was that fast. :)

fast is not enough... it shud be useful. which i didnt find it to be useful.

google has been delivering personalized search results for a long time now. bing has just started to deliver personalized rankings based on facebook social data. google takes into consideration links shared by your connections on networks like twitter, buzz, google reader etc.

True, but Facebook surely has a bigger network than Twitter, Buzz and Google Reader combined. Moreover it is the 'in thing'. This tie is expected to do wonders for Bing, which already has a 30% share (Yahoo! included)

personal experience. shares on facebook are shittier compared to on twitter. :)facebook is more personal in nature and you are unlikely to share good quality but still random web pages on it. think about it. how often would you share random web pages on the web you found useful on your facebook feed? your friends would get annoyed and would probably hide your content from their newsfeed. twitter on the other hand is more public in nature. your updates are not going to annoy your followers... and google probably realizes it and that is why they launched google +1 button. the links you +1 are not posted on buzz or any other network. they are just stored in a section on your profile page. i can +1 10 links in a couple of minutes and no one would be bothered by it. i share 10 links on twitter/facebook people would start complaining. i used to (and still do) tweet links that i want to bookmark for future access. it's mostly stupid but it does help because those links are then highlighted on relevant google searches. now i am shifting to google +1 for the same.
