Second router or Range Extender for easy mesh

i am still waiting for ACT aholes to install connection I want it in a different room. so they will have to patch the cut and terminate in a different room. Let's see how it goes.

Its been 3 days and I am getting frustrated even the nodal office cannot locate the installation guy. Avoided airtel because it will create mess with all wires. Seriously so annoying and now getting a refund will be another task.
 
Using 2 C6 in easy mesh config (1 main + 1 satellite). Satellite backhaul is wireless for now because ACT guy said lan cable is not connected or there is some break.

So main router is almost on the corner of the house and another few meters away, almost in direct LOS with just one wooden door obstacle.

Satellite router is able to push signal to the other corner of the house and getting full speed, router page shows link speed 100-150Mbps of 2.4g. Without satellite on same device I was getting only 5-6Mbps.

Only con I have found is my pixel wifi signal keeps increasing 1 bar up down for some reason, even when it is quite close to either router. Not sure if its related. It could be the beam forming thing also.

Using 2 different ssid for 2.4 and 5ghz without smartconnect feature. (main & satellite have same ssid)

its been 20-25 days. This easy mesh is really better than extender.

Zero drop in connection.
Very smooth switch over, you won't notice and don't have to.
Speed through extension is good.

I don't know the details of tech but what I have noticed most devices will correctly pick the device which they are closer to in-sequence. Example: Main R - TV - Satellite R. Even though tv is almost above the satellite router it will pick main router, with extenders devices will latch on to the closest device.

Some exceptions are old, IOT devices and pixel they like to latch to one and stick to it. Something is wrong with pixel it doesn't follow the mesh suggestion or change 5 to 2.4 bands swiftly, iPhone is better in this regard.

But the setup is so smooth once completed everything happens in background without any attention required. You may have to figure out initially if you want to keep 2.4 and 5 band separate, fixed channel, bandwidth, tx power stuff for optimization.
 
Well I say the same when I am using the extender, whatever you said I am experiencing while using the extender, only thing is I have kept in 5.0 GHz WiFi in both Main Router and the extender, so it latches to nearest router, I did this after having issues while connected to 2.4Ghz, in 2.4 GHz devices were still latched to main router even after moving away and going near to extender.

PS:- May be I need to set up mesh to know the difference.
