Set Top Box - Hathway

Two days back, my cablewallah has started to provide set top boxes for free with a 1 yr subscription. In all would charge 3000 for set top box, along with a subscription for a year.The deal is not yet finalised betw my society and my cablewallah. Cablewallah has tied up with hathway.Now, the set top box they have provided me, is from a company called scientific atlanta, and it does not support TV recording or PIP.I want to know, if i want TV recording and PIP enabled set top boxes, how much it would cost me ?Also, as a service, is hathway good (considering - Rs 3000 with a year subscription) ? or should i ask my society to setup a deal with Tata Sky ?

hi.i live in chennai. one friend of mine uses Hathway STB. hathway cable service is very good. u can go for it. no problems for my friend using hathway stb cable service. with CAS system, u can go in for pick and choose basis and pay only for what u watch. but if u go for DTH pick and choose option is yet to come into effect on Tata Sky . so better go for Hathway STBif i had received an offer like u said, some months back, i would have certainly gone for it. now i am using TATASKY

are available in hathway cable ..

i think u mentioned only abt digital signals from decoder box..

Yes, i think so. In normal Cable, you will get many channels. But in Hathway digital there are many channels missing which you get in your normal cable. But the thing is if you choose to go for Hathway Digital by being an normal Cable tv Subscriber, it is an added advantange for you.Hathway Set-top box got an option to give an analog output to your TV. So you can watch digital line in your AV and normal cable tv as usual.So you will be getting all the channels. I live in Bangalore.. i get all the tamil channels here including Jaya Max, Jaya Plus..in hathway digital.But normal Cable tv has another channels like WORLD MOVIES, BINDAAS..So i am not missing any channels..Moreover i stay in multi level apartments.. my house got 3 bed rooms and all the rooms have TV installed. So, with one connection i am getting the Cable tv on all my rooms for just 200/- which is more profit me.But do not ask about the clairy of the picture they provide... it is really worst :wall::wall:
