Hi Friends.. I was looking for information on how to setup my own dish at home so that I can view the free channels. That includes FTA channels from indiaand A+ channels like hotbird and REN TV. Right now I have Tata Sky at home, but I don't find any way to view these channels on my tata sky STB.I need following details.1. What hardware would be required and expropriate costs.2. What channels would be availableI don't understand jargons like LNB and few others, what I understand is, I would need to buy a STB and a dish, and than position it and set some frequency. That's it.What STB should I buy.. which one is better and will allow the A+ channels like Hotbird and REN TV.I know.. there are lots of GURUS here who can help me.. Come ON.Thanks

Hotbird signal is not received in India by normal dish (12~14 feet), may be larger then it could be possible but still only in western parts of India like Gujarat, and it would also be very costly setup, so better leave Hotbird.
About REN TV, its available on YAMAL 202 satellite at 49 deg East, in FTA mode on C-band, so any FTA STB available in market should be able to scan and play it. Parameters for channel can be found here - http://www.lyngsat.com/yamal202.html
About dish settings, its difficult task as it is C-band dish which is 8~10 feet large, and not possible to set by normal user. But if you know any dish technician in your area working for cable operators, they may be knowing it.
About cost again, I have know idea about prices in Indian market, but STB should be in 1000~2000 range and dish+LNB (C-band) etc should not go beyond 15,000 (just my guess).
