“For a start nobody requires 700 litres a day. It is unrealistic. If they have said we will give you the first so many litres free later on. It is very unrealistic. People in Delhi know that. People all over know that you have to pay a price for water that you get. Gone are the days or if there were any days like these where you got everything for free,” she told CNBC-TV18’s Shereen Bhan.

She's actually right, unless and until you charge for water based on its scarcity, no one will bother using it properly.

But food security bill makes total sense? Because Rahul baba?
“When you are doing a Food Security Bill, please remember, you are subsidising it. And how are you subsidising it? You are subsidising it by making money from somewhere else because you are going to subsidise that Food Bill and not let the farmers suffer. Same thing is going to happen. When prices go too high; for instance electricity. We subsidise electricity to a certain section of people so that they are not hit hard by the economic burden that it may cause them, but you cannot just go and give everything free without having telling you what are you means of going to collect some money. Are you going to become bankrupt? What will happen then?” she said.

We are already subsidizing foodgrain sold under PDS, and a lot of economists (including Dreze, Khera and Himanshu) have shown that under a properly implemented food security scheme, the cost to the tax payer will not rise from what it is at the moment. The problem is the corruption laden implementation which this government is going to do.

Kejriwal is also promising corruption free governance. I guess it is a good move to give them a single chance to prove themselves. lol. But yeah. It's idiocy. Arvind should have made logical promises. Following the same old politics of free things is not good. But then... If he talks about zero subsidy/no reservation model... He is definitely going to lose :D

lol. i am not an expert but delhi is on the banks of yamuna. they should not have any shortage of water in an ideal scenario. i wonder if dickshit can give details on how and where the money spent on cleaning was utilized in the end. she has been in the power for what? 10-15 years?

Bhai yeh toh paani ka department hai woh mere under nahin aata hai. DJB saara BJP ke under hai. (Shayad. Naa bhi ho toh mujhe parwah ni. Hurr.) Wohi batayenge ki hum jo unko paisa dete hain woh kahan kharch hota hai. Paani ki problem ke liye mujhe beech me mat ghasite. Meri problem ni hai. Jai Hind. Jai Rahul Baba. Jai Sonia ji.

AAP is making illogical promises and when they will eventually fail to implement them, its just gonna give ammunation for opposition to attack them.
However atleast its trying to oppose corruption unlike other parties. I guess in the end, we have to vote between shiniest of two turds.
