CHENNAI, India--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 2005--Sify Broadband, the retail Broadband access service from Sify Limited, India's leader in Internet, Networks and eCommerce Services company announced today that its high-speed connectivity home users crossed 100,000 subscribers. This makes Sify Broadband one of the leaders in the retail broadband business in India.

Commenting on this milestone, Mr.Shrikant Joshi, President Access Media, Sify Limited, said, \"I am pleased to note our home subscriber base for high speed Internet access services has crossed over 1,00,000 subscribers. However, I believe that, with the current impetus for broadband connectivity growth in India, the best is yet to come. Our focus now will be on speedy installations, service delivery of high quality and value additions that will act as service differentiators.\"

Unique model for delivery of services:

Sify Broadband uses a combination of fixed wireless, optic fibre and Ethernet cable technologies to deliver high-speed services to homes. Users include residential, SOHO/SME as well as commercial users across towns and cities in India.

Sify Broadband has embarked upon several initiatives to add value to users experience of their connection and to improve quality of service. One such initiative is the institution of processes for continuous improvement, maintenance and upgradation of the last mile network. Another initiative to enhance user experience is the Sify Broadband client software given to each and every subscriber. This is a powerful tool for easy installation, rapid logins, online help with a troubleshooting guide as well as alerts for account renewal.

In addition to these initiatives, Sify Broadband upgraded its network with technologies that ensure quality services, including sophisticated Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to protect the network from viruses. Every Sify Broadband subscriber is also provided with licensed Anti-virus software with the latest updates to keep their personal computers protected from viruses.

A wide range of service plans gives consumers more to choose from:

Sify Broadband offers pre-paid service plans that have a distinct advantage over post paid plans as they help customers plan their usage and control costs. In addition, a wide range of service plans helps customers choose a plan according to their needs:

* The 256 kbps pack with 1 GB of data transfer per month costs just Rs.499 + service tax as applicable. Unlike other service providers plans with a higher rate per MB once a specified limit is crossed, Sify Broadband subscribers just need to renew and continue to enjoy 256 kbps at less than 49 paise per MB.
* The popular family plans with unlimited hours of usage start at just Rs.450. Night unlimited packs are a boon for late night surfers. For dialup Internet users upgrading to broadband, Sify Broadband has a range of hourly packs to choose from. A self-promotional piece of nonsense released by Sify itself
this gives a new meaning to the low standards sify can drop to promote its servicespaid reporting
