yea even i hav stopped callin CCactually didnt face any other problem than thisits like wen u rise above all problems and attain enlightenment

Same problem here. Since several days in fact. I think because of heavy rains, moisture has got into servers, cables and brains of MTNL. Since 1 1/2 months I am having line problems, still not being rectified.

I have been experiencing similar symptoms since early May 07. Invariably during the afternoons (IST) my mail client would report timeout errors on certain domains (all hosted in continental US) where I have my email accounts including Yahoo!. However, I could browse other sites that I know for sure are hosted in the continental US.I lodged trouble tickets with my service providers and they came back saying their servers were up during the time I tried to access them and that they did not have any complaints from other customers on those hosts. One of the service provider's tech. support was helpful and we started doing traceroute from both ends; my end to my service provider and service provider to my WAN IP. We noticed that whenever my email client was timing out, the traceroute to/from my service provider host was exceeding the max. hop count of 30. The problem was somewhere between the MTNL gw and VSNL. At times, the connectivity problem with my service provider's host lasted for 30 mins. to 2+ hours. My service provider changed my host to a different data center and I have not had the problem since last two weeks. You should save output from traceroute when a) you are able to visit the site and b) not able to visit the site. Compare the two and you will get an idea where your packets are falling into the bit bucket.

Subject:
complain on behalf of many users - trouble accessing certain sites

Dear Sir,

I am complaining about this particular problem from about 10 days now. But
there is no response. Please pass this message to your technical department
as 1504 person is not able to understand this technical problem.

I am writing this on behalf of many users who are very happy customers of MTNL.

For past 2 weeks or so, we MTNL users are facing typical problem.
Internet works fine but certain sites stop working until we reboot our
router. Sometimes Yahoo stops working OR sometimes Google stops
working. Since these are big sites it causes lots of inconvenience.
Sometimes we have to reboot router 4-5 times just to make sites work.

It appears mostly to be some kind of routing problem or some kind of
configuration problem.

As far as I know this happens with users of Andheri-Borivali exchange
(GRGN server) and Prabhadevi server. It may be happening with other
exchanges.

I request you to check the following link for more details/complaints:

Please solve it as soon as possible.

Thank you
