Slow internet speeds issue with ACT Fibernet

Finally spoke to CC, asked to transfer to someone at their NOC, had a chat with a really friendly guy from their "technical team" who blamed it on a 'cable cut' and assured me everything was sorted out and no problems should occur from then on. Half an hour later, everything goes downhill. Got back in touch with the "technical team", another guy answered who checked the "technical parameters" and said he will forward the issue to his backend team and to expect a callback from them the next day. Speeds came back to normal at 1 midnight.

Expected a call from the so called backend/field team but the local technician turned up, asking me what the issue was. He gave me a call 10 mins later, with the usual line that it is a backend issue which was already rectified and if the complaint can be closed.

And to no ones surprise,

Spoke again at length with CC who tells me that there is no issue at their end and that they will forward the issue to their field team. Complaint reopened.

Both the technical team and field team are blaming each other. Now, I've always entertained the possibility that this could be an isolated issue but here is @madh123 post from another thread.

Subscribed to ACT fibernet yesterday worked amazing for 1 day userid is 11455884. Second day on wards trouble started Speedtest to ACT server shows 50 Mbps but netflix's fast.com shows 590Kbps and speedof.me shows 2.3 Mbps for a 50 Mbps connection and I am not able to watch any shows. This happens 10 PM to 1 AM.Looks like ACT has a policy to throttle users between this time or it could be that they are switching between two providers. Whatever the reason is, I am not able to take my meetings or do anything during this time which was the reason I disconnected this link earlier and I am going to do the same now. I am requesting a cancellation of connection since I am not satisfied with ACT. I would stick with airtel for now. Good bye to ACT.

I have no hope for any resolution and expect things to go back to normal when they rectify it on their own time. This post is a reminder for those who are on the verge of taking a new ACT connection. Cheers!

Lol yeah. As soon as that started happening to me I disconnected.

That compounded with the fact that the connection would just drop off the face of the Earth everyday at like 2am - 7am forced my hand.
