YouTube servers in india are overloaded. Hence the throttling. I'm not sure why they are not trying to fix the issue. This is not any ISP fault. This is straight up youtube fault.
After inputs from many sources, I can conclude it's a common relevant issue across all major Class A and B ISPs. Youtube is selectively moderating bandwidth routes in exchanges whenever usage from a particular ISP node is high. It can't be solved from ISP end. High time Youtube expands DCs across more cities for node decongestion and decentralization of CDNs to handle the rising demand.
Past 9-9:30PM on weekends especially, it's literally unwatchable for me. This is really bad. I watch a lot of videos in youtube and it's becoming more frustrating each and every time. I complained to jio customer care but obviously they are telling me to use ethernet cable, restart the router etc etc.
