It could. And hence BIG TV has come out with 30 MOD channels. So they can show as many movies possible.
About Slumdog Millionaire, yes its first time Tata Sky showing a movie at such cheap rate and first time on television before any channel or DTH did it (Not even SKY UK )

I think it is only the old mind set. Earlier the movies were purchased/financed by the distributors, who had to invest heavily with high risks. Now they have become wiser, are not willing to pay a high amount upfront and are keen to work on profit sharing basis. Even the Inix. E square multiplexes work on revenue sharing basis and run the movie for a couple of weeks only, starting with 6 to 8 shows a day, and tapering to just one. producers also have many options to sell the rights; they even get money for the products (pepsi, dresses etc.) used by the characters. Since the movies have a short life nowadays, it is possible that simultaneous release will become the norm.

I agree; but when one bidder is not willing to invest heavily, other avenues must be found. Production costs - actors, shooting, location etc. are high, but distribution costs are down, as prints (upto 30K) are not necessary. There will be more viewers for slumdog. . . now; but after a month there will be few takers.

For your kind information Fashion movie will be very soon to be premiere on UTV Movies but there is no sign of Slumdog Crorepati/Slumdog Millionaire movie on any TV channel apart from Tata Sky Showcase before 2-3months. ENJOY .........

First movie is "Fashion" which is available on dishtv, and also this movie is not shown on any tv channels till now. Its only available on dishtv.

How many People will see the Movie fashions, Movie which TS is premiering is a award winning and widely popular. It can not be compared to "Fashion".

I think 150 crore movies are obscene. Also, most money goes to paying stars, and what do they deliver? Chandni chowk to China!! I still haven't recovered from shock of watching that movie

Slumdog Millionaire in Tata Sky was pleasant shock to me

The movie deserves watching multiple times, as not everybody can figure out how he get the clues to answer every question in one shot.

I am proud to be a Tatasky subscriber.
All my wishes have been full filled.
So i may even buy a Annual Mega Pack.
Also only Airtel Digital TV Interactive looks to be a hopeful competitor.
Every other DTHs has some cons.
