So, what are you guys using your Raspberry Pi for?

Saw a lot of interest in the Pi3 thread. Wondering what all it is being used for by folks here.

I got it primarily for torrenting but also using it as a download manager for large files, Reliance auto-login and Google Drive backup.

My college engineering team imported 4 raspberry pi 2's for use in small robot to present in another college robotic fest. pre built robot kits are available but they are costly ~10k and are useless once fest is completed. we got them here for 6k and after the fest, had them installed in college lab

Home automation bug has bitten me these days and I am researching things to automate.

I will be relocating in very near future and will try to automate loads of things using Rasberry Pi and Arduino.

I'm using it for torrenting, XBMC, download manager, SAMBA, and windows network backup. I would have liked android TV to run on rpi which is still a dream, I use yupp tv.

EDIT: also add alliance auto login. Can you elaborate how is google drive beneficial with rpi ?

what does these robots do?

heh. I should have been more clear. there are bots which have 4 wheels. and they can do small functions like follow an black line on the floor, if you see any obstruction-change the lane etc functions out of the box. students are expected to code more advanced functions then and there at the fest and present them to the judges on the second day of fest.

our college people added thermal imaging sensor as well as infrared sensor so that the bot doesn't hit anything moving in the dark.
