There is a backup memory (in STB which I worked) to hold last good working firmware to restore STB software incase the upgrade fails for any reason. I hope Tata Sky uses same memory structure, so if upgrade interrupts, it restores last version, orelse we will have to carry STB to service center if STB gets DEAD

This one is off topic, but I dont want to start a new thread.Last night there was rain and I did not get signal in TS stb. One thing I found was that, the "Tuning" of channels was NOT DISABLED during this period that I lost the signal. This means that the STB gets commands which disable the tuning feature. So if I change dish orientation (so that TS signal is not received) to pick up DD Direct signals would I get the FTA channels. Can STB of TS or Dish pick up and play DD Direct signals?-Ravi
