Sony Bravia (RIP)

with respect to HD Channels i feel like i am not facing this issues...but yes in normal channels like Star Cricket this issues are there.....

@ Mascot......Is Movies Now HD 720p?? It looks quite brilliant in HD!! I am watching a few movies that i find interesting these days, due to the availability of sub-titles. Thats mainly coz it looks awesome!@ ajuravi.....These days Plasma TVs NORMALLY come with 3D - u want it or not. So in effect u havent "invested" separately for it. These TVs have such high refresh rates, that they dont have to do anything new, except including a tool in the software. What that does is, attracts people towards Plasma TVs.Quite a few people avoid Plasma TVs, especially when they want to use it as PC, coz its not recommended for that use.So, u dont have to worry that u invested in a technology that hasnt established. Its just there in Plasma TVs!!

Even I am confused and surprised with listing of Movies Now in HD and not 100% HD . Its quality is superb in SD even. And right from the 1st Day Movies Now is claiming to be 1080i also.

bro chill dude , because there is never a ghost effect in plazma tvs , its athing which happens in lcd and led only:biggrin (2):

----------

i few days back to a store , just for seeing wat model are there (didnt had to buy), it was a samsung authorised dealer, he said "sir dont take plazma for room , cos it need proper ventilation, for rooms take lcd or led, plazma are for lobbies and all " and ter was a plazma only a couple of months old and it had 2 permanent black horizontal lines in between screen and he said plazma have this problem , for no reason sometimes they start showing these lines , thats why i am saying dont take plazma for room."

is it true , that plazma should be taken for proper ventilated place....?????

It a bullshit reason. There is no such thing like ventilation. All showrooms keep plasma TV in display with AC ON and Door Closed, then how their Plasma are working fine.

The only reason people avoid Plasma is the one Jaymin had mentioned above. Plasma TVs are not suggested to use for PC. Next time when you visit to that store and saw that Sales Person... " Kaan ke neeche Bajane Ka " :p

Now since u have asked about Plasmas, let me mention a few things to look out for, before buying them........1) If u are going to watch it, where Sunlight is abundant, then avoid it - coz the picture looks very dull when sunlight falls on it.2) As mentioned earlier, avoid it for PCs.3) Before buying 1, check out how much "Image burn-in" is affecting it. That Ghost effect that is being discussed, is the image burn-in problem. People are saying that its a thing of the past, but in reality it does exist in negligible amounts. Just recently my uncle got it & he said there is minor issue, but he can live with it. So u need to check how much burn-in issue is there.Burn-in happens when an image stays still on the screen, and not in fast-paced sequences. this is the reason why it is isnt recommended for PCs.4) Power usage. Of all the 3 techs, Plasma is the biggest power hungry technology. If Plasma uses 100 units, LCD uses 50 units. LED uses 20 Units..........thats the scale of comparison for power.Still, all said & and done, it gives good viewing experience. Its quality is as good as LEDs & obviously super-high refresh rates make them ideal for sports viewing. And i havent come across this "PROBLEM" of Plasmas, that they need Ventilation!!!!! :O

Few corrections about Full HD channels (1080p) in India... Firstly none of the channels in India are 1080p.. they are mostly 1080i... Infact 1080p DTH broadcast is yet to enter in US (not sure of any country which is does it now)
