LOL all these just to show that their phone can be washed!! hahahah

And what more - there are washing instructions too!!

Btw I thought recent Sony phones were water proof, I used to see ads earlier too but it did not popularize them so much.

Dont know about Z series but Aqua models dont appear to be water proof but just wash proof. (that too after plugging the openings)

If you read Washing instructions - it clearly says do not submerge completely in water.

So its definitely not 100% waterproof

Strange - but then why is company saying not to submerge in water?!

Last week saw NDTV's Cell Guru show, in which anchor had submerged Sony M4 acqa in water for sometime, and phone was working after removing from water. Phone also had all ports (USB, Headphone) open without any flap coverings.

Actually some people also showed that nothing happened to iPhone 6 after immersing it in water.

But ofcourse Apple does not claim it to be water proof.

I suppose its just hit and miss! No guarantee!

*The Xperia M4 Aqua is waterproof and protected against dust as long as you follow a few simple instructions: all ports and attached covers are firmly closed; you can’t take the phone deeper than 1.5 m of water and for longer than 30 minutes; and the water should be fresh water. Casual use in chlorinated pools is permitted provided the phone is rinsed in fresh water afterwards. No seawater and no salt water pools. Abuse and improper use of device will invalidate warranty. The phone has an Ingress Protection rating of IP65 and IP68. To see what this means and for more information see Water and dust resistance – all you need to know – Sony support (United States)
