BSNL Broadband 750 UL @ Rs.500 pm
Hi Friends,

As I already mentioned before that I was using Home 500 Plan with a limit of 2.5 GB/month. But the new UL Plans literally attracted to migrate to them. Recently, it was announced that the tariff for Home UL 750 has been reduced from Rs.750 to Rs.500 for the next six months. I am not sure of other telecom circles, but atleast here in Kolkata this offer is being presented. Also the tariff for Business UL 3300 has been reduced from Rs.3300 to Rs.1400 for the same period. You can check it out here :

So I was already spending Rs.500 per month for internet, so I thought why not migrate to Home UL 500 since the cost of it too is now Rs.500.

Now there are 2 queries that I have : :cool2:

(1) The speed has become considerably low after this migration. I had applied for the plan change on the first of this month and it was changed today morning. Till yesterday night, I was getting excellent speeds, but from today evening, the speed is not upto the mark. The DataOne speed checker too is showing a speed of around 250-260 kbps, whereas it used to show a minimum of 1.9 - 2.4 Mbps earlier..!! So why this change ? Just because I am using a UL plan...!! :@ This is not fair at all..!! Infact the screen-shot below took too long to get uploaded in ImageShack...! :madness:

(2) Even though Home UL 750 is now Home UL 500, the Data One Portal shows my plan to be Home UL 750. So, I am in doubts that at the end of the month, they dont charge me Rs.750 instead of Rs.500. :O You can check the snap-shot below :

Any kind of help would be appreciated..! Thank You..!

My friend, Please check the T&C of UL750/UL500. The Bandwidth is Upto-256-kbps; Whereas the bandwidth for H500 is upto-2Mbps. Obviously the speed would have come done by a factor of 8 !!

Speed of 750UL is max 256kbps (32kBps)Speed of limited plans is max 2mbps (256kBps)Your speed is now reduced by 1/8th.

Thanks to both draog and echo77 for your replies. Thats what I was telling that just because I am on a UL plan does not mean that they will have to decrease my internet speed. Anyways, that was the bad part of it. The good news is that now I am back to what I was getting previously when I was using a limited plan. :dance:My internet speed is once agin awesome now and I am enjoying it. :yahoo: Maybe that day, it was a temporary server issue. So BSNL once again rocks for me..!!
