one more thing some people have told me that may b it is happening due to temporary server maintainence....they have told me to change my dns to open dns but for me it didn't work.is there any oder solution or way to change the dns server

Hey u could try Treewalk DNS service. It makes your pc as its own DNS server. Download it from http://ntcanuck.com/tw_exe/twdns821.exe

thats not mine yaar.that was posted in a community i just copied the link.i want to get speed like that.that's why i was asking about it

@debayan As you are new to the Forum,be careful what you post, and don't mislead the users here. Then go for 8Mbps connection.

Its easy. Make sure u change the Preferred DNS Server in the LAN Card and the Dataone connection (WAN Miniport PPPOE) to 127.0.0.1 Reboot for the changes to take place. On connecting and browsing, u will find a marked increase in your browsing speeds.

hey i've done that last night but the speed i got is just about 40KBps.nothing is happening yaar.i can able to download 5 files at a time with 40KBps but for a single file also the speed remains same....keep it in mind that i'm only getting bad speed from 0200-0800am.otherwise the speed is good enough around 230KBps...

Like mentioned changing the DNS will not increase your download speed. It helps in faster resolution of websites, means the overall browsing experience will be revamped.
