Dear friends.I knew IPTV needs higher bandwidth since it connects via Broadband. Say i have home 500 plan and if i go for IPTV will BSNL increase my speed automatically without changing my plan? Somewhere i read IPTV require minimum speed 8mpbs.ThanksBala

Well i dont think so. Airtel provides IPTV @ 256 kbps, and so should BSNL too. But i have heard that you can opt for speed increase with increase in rental. Other users can verify this. :O

IPTV will increase ur speed till the BSNL server but beyond that, ur internet speed will remain the same

Thanks for your suggestion. can anybody post your speed test result if you have IPTV connection?ThanksBala

I am using IPTV but the speed is same, as it was when I was not using it....

IMO Normal quality TV will use around 3mbps and if it transmits in compressed form then it may take a 1.5-2mbps line to do the job.A 1080p HD video in compressed form(h.264) will need a line of 7-8mbps. If it's uncompressed then it may take around 25mbps.
