Now that all the major Star Trek series are on Netflix, I decided to watch the opening episodes of all of them. I liked Enterprise over DS9 and Voyager so this is what I would be watching in the coming weeks. Looks good. This is the first Enterprise. Earliest of all the series so a lot of technologies showcased in other series is not yet available. But since it was shot in the 2000s, the quality of the visuals is much better than others.

Yup. Just cannot get myself to watch the original Star Trek. I see one episode now and then but completing it would be hard.

Original Star Trek is what I had tried watching few months ago. Gave up on the 1st episode itself

Yup. It's pretty hard to watch. Even if you ignore the low budget costumes, sets, effects... The stories are generally awful and the way women is portrayed is so out of place. After watching TNG, Star Trek looks like something that college kids made as a parody. Sadly, all the modern Star Trek movies are based on the original Star Trek with same characters. Enterprise looks interesting because it shows how the exploration actually started and how they started the whole adventure and gained new technologies. One of the best part of TNG (Holodecks) are not available to the crew on this series for example. And weapons and shield technology is very weak.
