Pricing revealed: Rs 60/month irrespective of the pack you have subscribed. So its a premium channel. Will be available in HD only. Going live on Tata Sky on 24 September.

Star World Premiere HD falls into the “Specials” category. Irrespective of the pack, it will cost Rs. 60 per month.

So all new HD channels being launched are taking this route of "pay extra for my channel". First it was HBO channels and now this channel.

I think depending on the exclusive content and the fact that the shows will be shown parallel to their US telecasts, this sort of price is justified. Can't say about HBO channels as I haven't seen them.

So this channel is not coming to CAS because the price is fixed at Rs. 5 per channel?

Nope , there isn't any such compulsion for a la carte pricing in CAS.

lol. i am so out of date. last thing i remember was that they enforced a pricing of Rs. 5 max for ANY channel on CAS.

I was under the impression that being a subscriber of Grand Sports pack, this channel would be automatically available to me. But if they are going to charge Rs. 60 for it then I am not going to subscribe. I am not interested in all the 26 shows that they are premiering, only a few of them.

Question is... Would you spend more than 60 rupees on bandwidth to get the same episodes through other routes? If yes? Paying for the channel makes a lot of sense.
