Starbucks

american seems to be crazy about tacos from taco bell :D i am personally getting hooked to steaks at chillis.

I used to have chicken chalupa everytime I visit taco bells ..Will be fun to see how it taste in India.. Will bring back such nice memories ..Dunkin Donuts is already in India I guess .. Used to have a hot chocolate while going to office .. Man such good days those were ..I hope starbucks open the shop themselves and not get these Tata's involved ..

here is a suggestion. keep your conspiracy theories outside threads that have nothing to do with them.

you mention starbucks and this what comes to my mind :D

and here is this nice quote from ' you have got mail' they got it perfectly right when it comes to places like starbucks

“The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino. ”

well that is the case with everything these days ain't it? things are not that bad here in india though. you usually have like one or two optional add-ons for coffees :D

true that , don't know how the Indian versions are doing nowadays, but hey welcome commercialism at it's best , in the start like early 2000's when barsitas and all were just setting up i asked for a decaf and poor guy looked at me with a blank face having no idea what a decaf is ...:(

A hot coffee at Starbucks will range from Rs. 80 to Rs. 165, while a cold coffee will cost anywhere between Rs. 120 and Rs. 200. The CCD sells hot coffee at about Rs. 80 and cold coffee at about Rs. 150.

Barista, CCD unlikely to take on Starbucks killer pricing - NDTVProfit.com

NDTV actually claims that the prices of Starbucks coffee are competitive. I guess compared to CCD and Costa they are.

Undeterred by the entry of iconic US-based coffee chain Starbucks at competitive prices, entrenched players such as Cafe Coffee Day (CCD), Barista and Costa Coffee are unlikely to go in for price war, and plan to continue with differentiated pricing strategy.

i am surprised again that no one is concerned that you are paying 4 dollars for a cup of coffee here in india :)
