^^ me too , really liked Atlantis guess the over all Atlantis CIC was much better then sg-1 . ok some sg-1 trivia i had digged out my collection and went through it again , had originally watched it when it was airing so that ages ago, soo did you know nearly all minor and not so minor characters in BSG are in SG1 in some epi and some are in even more episodes as different character like, LT.Getda he is 3 episodes of sg1 and in totally diffident characters !! Sharon or number 8 is in one, Chief from BSG has 2 lines as a jaffa !!! Helo does not even has a line he is in the background with as a replicator !!! number 1 cyclon or cavil is in 2 episodes , number 4 is also there ,,lol t.v is a funny business, just shows how much the actors have to struggle to get work i guess. edit: formatting sucks but i have JS disabled so bear with the post :P

Even the storylines are pretty much similar to BSG. I am watching BSG these days :D

^^ you must HAVE just started BSG and sg1 story wise are no way near !! BSG is much more intense, dark and really a study of human nature in extreme conditions, every character in that show was taken to a brink and really broken apart , me thinks it has one of the best character development in t.v history after Lost and recently B@B. there are really no light moments in that show.

lol. my point was that both have a villain that wants to destroy humankind. both has annoying politicians who do not give a shit about human existence as long as they are in power. and both have ships named prometheus :P both also have bad guys who look like humans (well jafaa are humans but they are also the bad guys with a thing inside their stomach :P).
basically i was talking about the premise not direct correlation of stories. i am close to finishing second season :)
as for actors appearing on both the shows... i believe both the shows were on the same channel at the same time so they were being developed sidebyside. so it was apparent that the production team shared their resources :P

ahh ok :) but the real difference is BSG dares to ask does the human race deserves to be saved ?? that was the question around which the whole show is centered and will never be answered but you will get to that part by so3 :) this not a typical sci fi show ,,lol the leads all had in their contracts that one funny monster like alien or anything and they will walk out!! it is more like humans versus their own creation the cylons and hence also the major emphasis on religion in this show or 'god' or 'gods' , which btw will BE answered in the very last line of BSG :p enjoy it , this is a cult series which will never be remade again .
