I am in Mumbai, Goregaon west. Since last few days i am not getting either of starsports hd channels (earlier i was getting starsports hd 1 and 2). may calls to cable operator, Mahalxmi cable network, resulted in nothing as every time they give me different answer. are other people getting these two channels on HD? someone plz help me ?

I am on Marine Drive and the Star Sports HD channels are blocked here too. On checking with Hathway I was told that I now have to pay extra to view those channels as the broadcaster has changed rates. Most unfair as these were part of the HD pack when I subscribed for the HD plan and paid for a year in advance. What Hathway is doing is illegal as per TRAI regulations. Have a look at this link from the TRAI website. Look at Q.4. as that is the one relevant to us. I have also copy-pasted it below.

Q 4. Can a cable operator change the composition of subscription package subscribed by consumer?
A. The cable operator cannot change the composition of subscription package, subscribed by the consumer, during first six month of subscription or during the entire period if subscription amount has been paid in advance. However, if the channels are not available in the platform of the cable operator then, the cable operator shall reduce the subscription charges payable by the consumer by an amount equivalent to the a-la-carte rate of such channel from the date of discontinuance of the channel. The cable operator may offer an alternative channel of the genre and language of the channel discontinued and, if the offer is accepted by the subscriber, the cable operator may not reduce the subscription charges for the channel which is not available on its network.

How much are they asking you to pay extra?
I am from Worli. When I called them, they said discussion is going on and they are going to make 200 for 1 HD channel.
I have also paid for a year in advance. Apart from this when i subscribed SD channels, i was able to view all 4 Star sports channel. Now they are asking me subscribe for same with additional charges.
Also are you guys getting HBO definded & Hit HD channels. They are blocked for me,

Star Sports has filed a compliant with TDSAT for making star sports channels A La Carte.

It claims that the MSO is charging additional money for adding the channels above the pack.
This case will come up for hearing on 19 March. TDSAT has already asked Hathway Cable to file an affidavit showing that it is complying with the regulations, the number of subscribers who have requested Star Sports and the number of subscribers for whom Star Sports has been activated.

Rs200/month is too high. You had paid one year advance payment for HD subscription right? Did you argue with them about your rights to get the channels as you are on long term pack?
