Any alternative that exists is probably already sold out or being sold for black. Instant pot prices have also jumped in recent days but they are still available coz they are not very popular in india.

A lot of small hawkers have disappeared in my local market that rely on those small cylinders. A friend runs a cloud kitchen has 3 days stock left. Worse is yet to come.

damn this is bad ,we only have 15 days of cooking gas left at our home after that we would have to book again and god knows if we get it at actual price

i was thinking on getting induction but that is out of stock everywhere too

But I also don't think people panic buying in such situations also helps. Indians also have the tendency to take advantage of such situations (like scalping).

the delivery person said no major issue with supply because of too many orders a bit delayed. Chalo for a month sorted.

Sure. They laid down pipeline here but refused to give connections unless X number of residents in the area deposit installation fee first. Rwa couldn't reach X number so no connections have been installed in years.
