Whoa. I totally missed the price post. lol
based on reports, valve has stated that the price hike due to component price increase has been similar to their deck device. so this device would probably have been priced at 750 dollars but the timing was just bad lol. i guess they just could not have waited for a year or more for prices to stabilize so they would have to deal with a lot of negative responses. twitter is full of posts comparing to how this is bad compared to playstation or how you can buy a proper gaming machine with better hardware for the same money and so on. valve might be fucked up badly this time around. though i am sure they would sell out every unit that goes on sale even at these prices lol.
