Strange, help please...

I recieved the BSNL modem and the limeman just fixed it to the telephone line and asked us to set it up by ourselfs, it works without any configuration!It is an USB modem, I connected it.And without any configuration, it connects at 500kbps speed.Please tell me whether the username and password is worth atall!:madnesslease tell me how you people connect to the web.I have'nt yet used them.Is this the same way it works in your home too...Then for what is the password?

Which is your modem?

Kindly checkout BROADBAND MAIN MENU It features installation procedures for various modems.

U need to install your USB Modem using the CD provided with the modem.

Yes the driver is installed.But I want to know where to type that password that they gave me.something like ppp : xxxxxxx3what to do with this?BB connects without any typing of passwords.

1. Since you say you are getting connected at 500kbps, you don't have to do anything in the modem.
2. The ID and password are incorporated in your modem. unique to yourself.
For corresponding with BSNL you need to know your ID. along with Telephone
number.
3. If you are on unlimited plan, no need to check usage.Otherwise , If you want to track your usage You will need another 14 digit ID /password for this . more about this later.
4. To program the modem Id and Password are different.
usually admin admin or admin password.
Now, for the present you don't need to try.
5. Since you have accessed this page/forum ( presume on your BSNL broadband new connection), your Internet connection is Ok and you can surf the web pages. No need for password.
6.Hope your connection is now "Always on ". If you were told to dial to connect,
You must know your ID and password.

Thank you better I don't worry anymore.Anyway the BSNL usage checking site does not work for now.Is'nt it data.bsnl.in/wps/portal

Better call 1800 424 1600 and clarify the matter. about User ID ,portal ID , password etc.
After two or three days try here with the ID xxxxxxx3
given to you and use password as password.
I could be wrong, as I am an old user, and cannot use the above usage checking site.
