thank u guys for all ur valuable suggestions....let me get it straight... this TV is actually not for me this is for my parents and they will watch only movies and normal regional channels...by buying 26'' i can save nearly 6-7 k , only my concern is if the viewing distance is 7-8 feet whether the viewing quality will be poor ...? if it is fine with blindfold i will go for 26''

Why don't you go for a flat panel 29 inch. The picture quality would be just as good, and the screen size comfortable too. They also look good and are light on the pocket compared to LCDs.

but flat panel is getting outdated right.? "and am going to buy a new TV then let it be LCD that is my thought..."

I suggest you go with LG LCDs.They are cheap and I dont see much difference in the picture Quality compared to Sony or Samsung. If you want to buy 26" There is no need of Full HD because the difference is Hardly notable on a small screen.Check out the LG website for the TV's and their MRPs. You will usually get it for much less than that quoted on the site.

u r right , my friend brought LG lcd and am not seeing any difference from sony and it is cheap also...

And actually i dont want to go for 26" , but i want to know for my viewing distance 5-7 feet 26 " is enough or not... ,
i want to give ths TV as a present to my parents so i want to make sure in that distance quality should not be poor.. and by going for 26 " i can save some 7k also

now there are watching 21" CRT

last week i brought LG LH 20 32" LCD , for 28 k and it is pretty good...and am using videocon DTH , but i have some conserns like1:while viewing football with 16:9 size the quality seems to be little less , the same case is applicable for some regiional channels but if i change the screen size to 4:3 or something less quality will be good..what is the reason behind this may be my viewing distance is less or what..?

Just wanted to share here. I bought a Haier 42 " 1080p Full HD 19** X 10** for 40,000. I have been using this for 4 months now, It works just fine, I am using Airtel DTH with this TV and I have hooked up Creative 2.0 Sound system with it, its just a great experience. I also have hooked up my laptop to the TV through HDMI output. If anyone is interested to find out more about this TV, Just ask?

The blue line on the bottom of the TV is just lighting effects, its not there on the real LCD.

get a 32" LCD... it would be just right ...the problem with a 26" is that ur parents wont find much of a difference from their older 21" so i suggest a 32"Since ur saying that they are just gonna watch DTH then u should probably go for HD-Ready... Full HD is not necessary ..u can finish the whole budget within 30 thousand and go for LG... its cheap and best and has good warranty and customer service..I myself have a 42" LCD from LG and i have no complaints against it... All the best..The Lord
