For a decade long now SUN is one of most popular watched Indian channel with TRP's crossing STARPLUS, and therefore I don't think in south India atleast no one can beat SUN DTH, only they need to cater channels of some other genre like Sports/Infotainment (Discovery/Hist/NGC)/Cartoon along with GEC channels

Sun channels and sun direct dth are two different entities. Sun channels are no doubt popular. It does not necessarily follow that sun dth can be a preferred service provider. Its cable wing, SCV, became a monopoly by virtually cutting (in the real sense) other cable operators. Now the political environment is hostile and dth is different from cable tv. How does one explain its lack lustre launch? Virtually no advertisements. Its survival and popularity will to a great extent depend on dmk's fortunes. How long they can subsidise and hold prices low remains to be seen.

Sun DTH will be limited to small area (South) and will have mostly southern regional channels. So it can not compete with all India players like Big DTH, DishTV & Tata Sky.:rofl::hysterical::rofl::hysterical:

oh my god is it south india a small area ???????? south + hindi + english (movies,gec channels, music) + sports+kids+ science and adventure then it covers allmost 90 % my dear friendexcept hindi all other channels (english ,sports, science ,kids category) are all india channels so no doubt sun dth will be a sucessful oneand important one Tata Sky or dishtv is not providing all the south indian channels so in ur view point they are also not an all india player

SUN DTH will remain south oriented DTH service, but looking at channel content available in only 4 souther states, then it can be seen that channels in this 4 languages may be more than 50% of that of total channels available in India, so if SUN DTH only target them, they have lot to offer which is overlooked by NATIONAL DTH players.And with this 4 languages GEC+Music+Movies & Sports, Cartoon they have a lot to offer and can be successful there (South India)
