I thought 502T has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Are you sure it new & not refurbished?
Yes these are new and not refurbished.
Check out Socrates?s experience: Configuring the
D-Link 502T
router for MTNL Broadband Do it yourself

for configuration. I am using it from '05 and so far no problem
Thanks a lot for the link. Do I have to take my newly purchased modem for configuring at their end too? This is what they had done whilst getting the new rented modem from MTNL Centre, since the previous one stopped functioning. I am using the current modem since 2005 too and find it stupid to give Rs. 80 per month for the past 3 years. Buying is a better option but was sceptical earlier due to my past experience with this modem.
For procedure of surrendering, best to ring 1500 or 1504 and get latest info on it. In all probability you have to give it in writing along with the piece to your exchange but remember to take an acknowledgment
Acknowledgment is always insisted by myself. However, will give the call centre 1500 or 1504 a miss, since I prefer peace of mind than dealing with their staff. They answer as if they have done a big favour. Forget the answers they give...they lack telephone etiquette too :frown:.
Thanks a lot for your help socrates. Any more inputs guys?
