Has anybody come by to pick up the CPE's to those who have disconnected? It's been 2 months since I disconnected and when I gave them a call to find out if anyone was ever coming (when disconnecting they said someone would come), got the run around...

Yesterday, I submited an application for Tata Docomo (Chennai), Dhamaka offer (validity: Nov 1st - Dec 31st), for the plan 1500/- , 8mbps, 160GB FUP (only with dhamaka offer, otherwise you get only 80GB, limited period offer) , post FUP 512kbps, no installation charges or no advances, you need not pay anything. You need to pay only the usage amount in the bill.
They told, they will install in 4 working days.
Actually, I could not believe this offer, and I am curious now, how the experience would be. Basically, service shall be good, which I am not sure.
I am currently using Airtel Broadband, 1199/- plan, 15GB FUP, 4mbps, post FUP 256 kpbs. No complaints on this except the FUP.
Once I am satisfied with docomo and it becomes stable, I am going to say bye bye to Airtel.
:pleasantry: -- Before I confirm this, please share your experiences.

For me the experience with Tata was very bad. I was using it for last 4-5 months. Their Customer service is pathetic. Decided to terminate the connection and move to Airtel.

I have been using this connection (16 Mbps / 160 GB @ Rs. 1700) once again for the past 3 months after disconnecting it previously. The speed problem seems to be resolved for the past 1 month. I get a constant 16 Mbps at all times with burst speeds of 30 Mbps for a few seconds, so web browsing is actually faster than 16 Mbps. It still disconnects without fail every single day, multiple times a day for 1 second and reconnects immediatelly with a new IP address. This will get you kicked out of games, interrupt your streams, terminate your voice & video chat sessions and terminate your non-resumable downloads.
Even though it reconnects immediatelly, I am unable to rejoin Dota 2 matches. It probably has something to do with the game client sending the server UDP packets from the new IP address almost immediatelly before the Steam ticket has been revalidated and it gets blacklisted or something. I have to exit the game, manually disconnect once again and relaunch the game with a new IP address before I can reconnect.
I keep my Airtel connection just for gaming (25 GB / 2 Mbps @ Rs.799) since their ADSL line has higher uptime than Tata's Fibre.

Thanks for the update...would appreciate it if you would let us know if the connection ever gets stable and doesn't disconnect everyday (even for a few seconds - it was quite annoying to have it disconnect in the middle of a chat or download) :)
