Hey All,November 2010 was when i decided to upgrade to HD (I have had a dishtv regular STB since they started their service). I decided to go with Tata Sky this time looking for "better service". Well I must say looking at the whole interface and regular updates of TS's programme guides at a friends place, i was pretty impressed.Now since Nov there have been just calls after calls. Their execs just keep telling me new dates. First it was mid dec, then xmas, then new year, and the latest - "they are not sure". I'm starting to think now, is it really worth the wait and frustration.To add on to that, yesterday when i gave them a call, the customer service guy, actually had the audacity to tell me that there are only three channels in HD sir, why do you want to go for HD. Go for regular STB!

Is there a way to differentiate betwn current (older) STB and newer (to be launched in jan 2011) STB? Some dealers in Pune have current HD STBs available. Is it worth waiting for newer HD STBs?

If I am to belive the CC exec I talked with, it probably is better to wait for the new STB's. He says they have fixed a few bugs..also he claimed that there will be some exchange offer for existing customers..and better pricing for new customers...If it is really only a week away, why not wait and see.

One thing is confirmed...4 types of STBs to be rolled out... TS SD, TS HD, TS+, TS+ HD...One more thing, in Feb., World cup is coming and ESPN-STAR has confirmed the live feed will be HD... So its goin to be HD season and all the STB players are going to fight it out with competitive prices... So if TS has to be there fighting, then atleast a month b4 the WC, they hav to start giving HD STBs and which will be now or maximum by 3rd week of Jan... All the operators in CC are hinting this... So pls wait for a couple of weeks and then decide... that will be the wise thing..

india tours england later in the year and that too will be telecast on star cricket / espn so lots of HD action to be expected this year .. hope they show world cup 2011 and ipl 4 on hd .. lets see when they launch and what their packages are .. after a lot of survey Tata Sky hd seems to be the best ..

Hope the wait does not last couple of years! Seriously man, the delay from Tata Sky is very annoying.

It is better to get an official source date cc won't give any specific date until then speculating makes no sense.
