TATASKY HD box Eletrocutes - Normal?

Does you Tata Sky HD box discharge electric shocks?!!! Mine does. Helpline gets the same fellow who installed it in the first place and thinks a little shock is normal! In fact showed 2 more boxes that behaved in the same way! Is it a faulty set of boxes being dished out by local agent or the company purchased a faulty lot?What can I do - please advise....Id: 1096644727

Talk to customer care not the technician. Tell them that you feel the box isn't safe.

2box? get your earthing checked by a electrician, don't look on net for answers it can be serious, get professional help

Yes ,first check he earthing of the point you are using for your STB.If that is fine then only complain the customer care.

Afaik, set top box doesn't require earthing nor are they supplied with three pin plugs.Have you tried disconnecting the box from TV and checking it for the same using an earthing tester? The culprit could be your TV too.

Have you tried disconnecting the box from TV and checking it for the same using an earthing tester? The culprit could be your TV too.

If a electrical product does not require an earthing or does not have, that does not mean there is no fault of earthing in fact it should get checked by a licensed electrician may be there is some problem with meter wiring or neutral phase and androidfreak stop giving such dangerous advises, i assumed you don't understand electrial systems

Did you read my post PROPERLY? Did I ADVISE anything? I just stated a fact.

And I know electrical systems quite well.
