Better check your wiring. If the neutral to ground voltage is high, this also may give shocks for equipment with metal casing. I have seen places where the neutral to ground voltage is as high as 20 volts.

It seems to be a long running topic which I frequented while checking some other topic. I just wanted to post a general information on the electrocute issue. It applies to every electronic device and not only to Tata Sky etc. Even your computer, laptop or any other gadget can give out mild electric shock if there is no earthing. I have seen this all throughout the years and it is absolutely normal. For solving this, make sure that proper earthing is there from the electric board to which your device is connected. But that is not enough. If you use an extendion or power cord, then you must make sure that it is surge proof. I had realized this surge protection thing a few months ago when I felt shock from my computer and router when the voltage increased a bit. I soon realized that the power cord/exension board from where I had connected all the devices was giving out the electricity. When I bypassed the extension power board and connected it directly to the power plug, it did not give the electric shock. Then I researched and realized that these cheap Rs.100-250 or so extension or power boards cannot protect against high voltage and so, when there is a minimal high voltage too it sends that to the connected device resulting in the mild shock and body electricity of the appliance. So, I purchased a Belkin power surge protecter board and connected it and the issue was gone. I needed to connect all of them and so, i purchased the surge protector but if you do not need it then just bypass it and connect directly to the power plug if the earthing in your house is fine. I also realized that by using multi plug (if possible from some trusted brand like Anchor) these issues do not occur.
