hi,
Tata Sky is seeking partial exclusivity for launching a select few channels,i wonder which are those channels & you people wouldn't mind joining me in that guessing game,if govt gives the nod. tatasky is also launching personal video recorder(pvr) soon.they are also looking at more international and regional content depending on their popularity.
the link to above is given below

I don't understand the concept of partial exclusivity. Either TS can show a channel exclusively (DishTv does that with Turner Classic Movies) or all DTH operators have access to all channels. Where does partial exclusivity come into the picture? Vikram Kaushik (TS) was talking about it two weeks back (there is a thread on this topic somewhere).

DNA - Money - Partial exclusive content in DTH need of the hour: Tata Sky - Daily News & Analysis. Here he talks about exclusive programs. Which DTH operator creates their own programs? They have arrangements with content producers/ broadcasters to handle it for them and create a channel for the same. What he is basically asking for is full content/ channel exclusivity which is a good thing but which will not happen, TRAI being against the same.

I think tsky should concentrate on adding some popular channels that is available now rather than creating a channel on it own saying exclusive channel

May be Tata Sky are getting some channel content from SKY/FOX (their sister concerns in UK/US)

Tata-Sky has the same ancestry. DirecTv (US) is now owned By Liberty Media. Murdoch sold it to them in exchange for their holding in News Corp. But Sky UK is still owned by him.
