The Delhi High Court today rejected the writ petition of Tata Sky against a refusal of the MRTP Commission to grant any interim relief in favour of its complaint against DishTV for alleged monopolistic practice of declaring that it will give free STBs to subscribers opting for a 12-month package. The court, which expressed some disfavour against Tata Sky, said either it would reject the petition or Tata Sky could withdraw it, and this, the court repeated twice, upon which Tata Sky withdrew it.
Tata Sky had last week filed a complaint against Dish TV alleging that it was offering STBs free, which was a monopolistic practice, resulting in Tata Sky’s sales plummeting by half.
