Tatasky Mini dish with SUN STB

I called the SD technician yesterday and asked to help in re-aligning the dish. As it was TS, he was initially disagreed but later i explained the situation and he was ready to do this re-alignment. But wonder, he changed the LNB in TS dish and now SD is able to recognize the signals..I am Just confused here as the TS LNB was a sticker with Universal LNB, but still why it was not able to pick the SD signals...I asked the technician he does not have an answer, and he was not sure weather it was locked by TS? But again wonder, the same LNB was working with Airtel connection too...

Yeah, I know this is very strange.The Dish Technician had done several tries to get Sun direct Singal with Tata Sky Dish, but the LNB did not pick up any signals apart from Tatasky and Airtel DTH. The another Point, Sun direct Set up box was showing Signal Strength and Qulaity when the dish was Set to Tatasky Alingnment. I mean 83 E, but when the dish is moved to 91.5, Signal and Quality both was empty. When he changed the SUN DIRECT provided LNB, My Sun direct Set top box was authorised to receive Signals... I do not understand why Sun direct Signal is not picked up TataSky LNB.. either dish technician can not judge this was a problem with LNB or is there anything that was locked at the backend level with Tatasky.

Yes, this is now come to the conclusion. I still did not give up in using the Tata Sky dish with Sun direct STB. So one or another day i was trying to figure out whats the problem is and i can get the signals of Sun Direct. So yesterday i again tried to re-align the dish and this time with a small TV on terrace to see the exact the signal strength. The SUN DIRECT STB receives the Signal Quality when the Dish is positioned in Tatasky Signal Direct, and not in 91.5. When the dish slightly moves another direct, Sun Direct STB shows the Quality as Zero. This made me to think the LNB is capable of receiving only the Tatasky Signals.So i contacted a near by Shop and asked any technician available to help with dish re-alignment. He visited my place and using the Signal Meters, we were trying to get Sun direct Signals. The dish is aligned properly at 91.5, but at the wonder, Sun STB did not show the Signal Quality Level. But when we moved to Tatasky direct, the STB Picked up the Quality.So we came to the conclusion, the LNB does not work apart from Tatasky Signals. The technician also keen to know this, and came with normal STB of Big TV what they supply, Now Sun direct STB has picked up the signals.

I am using TS dish + LNB for both TS and dish TV reception, no problem with both stbs.

Thats nice to hear. But now thought go about the LNB compatibility. You use TS SD LNB for Dish TV, both seems to be MPEG2,
But when i talk about SD, this MPEG4, is this problem why i am not getting the Signal Quality when i use tata dish with Sun STB?

Moreover how you swtich between TS and DISH TV as they belong to different direction?

@bgltvI have two dish + LNB, those belongs to TS (stb is only of DISH TV, some one from TS gave me as gift), so the direction are different for both reception. I agreed with you about MPEG-2 AND MPEG-4 senerio, rest some tech will clarify.
