Did not watch either of those films.. But villain shown in Avengers credits is in GOTG, I am confused now.

because they are all part of the marvel universe! guardians of the Galaxy is in the same universe as the planet earth and asgard (Thor/Odin/Loki) and i guess they would eventually get to interact with other superheroes as well

Well, I guessed that part. But I thought, why show Thanos reacting to avengers if he is going after the GOG guys. Some news articles tell me that he will be in Avengers 3, Infinity War in 2019.

probably. the universe is expanding massively and it is a pain to stay up to date if you are not watching everything connected to the universe... this includes the television shows, the webisodes, the movies... thankfully not the comics.

Quite likely. And Captain's broken shield might just be a part of a dream sequence. Lol

I wonder who would make him a new shield if Captain America and Iron Man are going to be fighting each other in The Civil War.

Hahaha. I don't think his shield can break. Remember how Thor's hammer bounced off it in Avengers?
